Our outstanding PTA continue to raise money for the school. Mrs Maclean, Mrs Randall and Mrs Ayres and the team have organised many successful PTA activities once again this year.
During the autumn term, they have organised a very successful Halloween disco that was very well attended and enjoyed by all. This was closely followed by a hugely successful pumpkin hunt which again was very well attended and supported by our community.
The PTA also organised a very successful Elf Hunt around Baglan Park. As always, the PTA try to link with the community and this is supported by Cllr Richards, our vice chair of governors. The ELF hunt coincided with the turning on of the Christmas tree lights.
The PTA also added a new event to the calendar and on 06.12.2023, Baglan PTA held a Christmas Fayre.
The PTA also organised individual pupil Christmas cards which were then created by Xmas 4 Schools.
During the spring term, the PTA organised a very successful and well attended ‘movie’ night. The pupils enjoyed watching the two films that were linked to Valentine’s Day.
They then ran a very popular ‘Mother’s Day’ market, where the pupils were able to purchase a small gift for a special person in their lives.
During the summer term, they organised a fantastic Father’s Day/ Special person gift, a very successful cake sale and sold tip tops at the end of each school day. The queues were enormous especially with the warm weather.
Mrs Maclean, supported by Mrs Smart secured a £2000 grant to support STEM activities across the school.
This grant allowed us to purchase many indoor and outdoor resources including coding robots, microbits and outdoor construction equipment such as water world channeling sets.
The PTA have also funded ‘fun yard markings’ and the marking of a new football and netball court.
On behalf of all the staff and children we would like to thank all the PTA very much for their hard work. We would also like to thank all the parent & carer volunteers who readily give their time throughout the year.
We always need & welcome new members. Even if you are only able to help us on some occasions , every bit of help is greatly appreciated.
