Keeping Your Child Safe at School

Keeping Your Child Safe at School
A Guide for Parents and Carers

What is Safeguarding?
Safeguarding means making sure your child is safe, happy, and well cared for at school. We want to protect your child from harm and help them learn and grow in a safe place.

What is Child Protection?
Child protection is part of safeguarding. It means taking action if we think a child might be in danger or being hurt.

Our School’s Promise

  • We work hard to keep every child safe.
  • All our staff know how to look after children properly.
  • We listen carefully if a child or parent tells us something important about safety.
  • We follow the law and rules about protecting children.

How We Keep Your Child Safe

  • We check that all staff are safe to work with children.
  • We teach children about staying safe, including online safety.
  • We watch out for signs if a child is upset or needs help.
  • We talk to parents and carers if we have any worries.
  • We have a special person called the Designated Safeguarding Person (DSP) who makes sure all safety rules are followed.

What Should You Do?

  • Talk to your child about their day and how they feel.
  • Let us know if you are worried about your child or another child.
  • Tell us if your child has any health or safety needs.
  • If you have concerns about a child’s safety, speak to the school’s DSL.

Important Update: Breakfast Club and Junior Compound Procedures

Important Update: Breakfast Club and Junior Compound Procedures

A reminder that Breakfast Club runs from 8:10 am, and the doors will close promptly at 8:30 am. Please ensure your child arrives on time.

After the half-term break, all pupils in Years 3 to 6 will go straight from Breakfast Club into the junior compound. This is to help ensure the health and safety of all pupils.

Please also note that all pupils in Year 4 and below must be accompanied by an adult when arriving at school, including for Breakfast Club.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
